Inside you will find a view of one of the most
remarkable decades ever. We will visit the late
1950’s to the early 1970’s, and will cover the
changes if music, science, social structure, politics, military actions and lifestyles. Trip back to the
50’s family structures, the music that gave birth to Rock ‘n’ Roll. We will examine the toys of the
60’s, the Space Race for the moon and Vietnam, the war that wasn’t. See the psychedelic era’s
posters, clothes, clubs and musicians. See the changes in art, literature and Women’s rights.
Examine the social changes, the Civil Rights movement and the assassinations that changed the
political structure of the world. Imagine an amazing campus where art, science and technology
meet with history and education. Visit a fallout shelter, see a Nike missile and take a virtual trip
back in time.
The Living Vietnam Memorial, a Sixties Toy Museum and a library for study of the period, coupled
with a chance to bring employment in historical studies, technology and education can happen with
your support.
The museum needs you items to display whether donated or on loan. You may not want to part
with that prized collection, but how about a temporary loan so others can share in your good
fortune. The museum can also accept donations of vehicles, property or gifts in kind for tax
reasons.
Your help with the museum will provide educational services and preservation efforts for a part of
history that is often overlooked.
The Sixties Museum hopes to one day
occupy a 200,000 square foot complex, but
we are starting with about a 40,000 square
foot building as a preview of what is to
come.
