Politics in the Sixties was as turbulent as the rest of the decade. In the U.S. there was as much difference in the presidency as one can imagine. In Russia, infighting led to constant political inside the Soviet Union. China was in the midst of a revolution, England was awakening to all the changes in lifestyle and politics that the United States was enduring. Meanwhile a divided Germany dealt with communism, Japan faced major post war changes, and all faced the British Invasion. The world was becoming a smaller place and it was hard to accept the roles nations found themselves in. Spying and espionage became the topic of dinner discussions and television programs. And, of course, we lived with the constant threat of Nuclear War. The hammer and sickle became as recognizable to children as the flag. Revisit the conflicts and see what the collapse of the Soviet Union has revealed about the state of the world during that decade.
