Civil Rights

Follow the story of  Martin Luther King, Eldridge Cleaver, The Black Panthers, Selma, Desegregation and Watts. At last there will be a place that puts the story in its true perspective.  You will be able to follow the progress through life's basic inequalities, visit the times of desegregation, confrontation and change in the South.   See a time when the world had to reexamine the way we saw and treated each other.

For generations, minorities were treated as second class citizens, from jobs to the military to simple recreation.  A brave group of people, building on the work of earlier Civil Rights figures, organized to bring the inequities to light.  Soon they were joined by religious, political and college organizations, and went on to dramatically alter all aspects of life.

College students protested and held out their hands to others.  Yet the world was torn between factions that hated and welcomed people of different colors, races, and religions.  Those were difficult times to form the opinions that would guide the rest of your life.

Help us preserve those times so our children can understand.  Help us prepare teaching materials to motivate their thoughts on the future they will be living in.  Support our efforts to encourage their free thought.
