The Sixties Museum Hall of Fame Awards

Chicago, IL—August 2 , 2005— The Sixties Museum is having its annual Sixties Hall of Fame awards on September 24, 2005 at The New Kinetic Playground in Chicago.  Featuring the music of Country Joe McDonald and The New Invaders.  Country Joe will receive his award for his music and his ongoing work to help Vietnam Vets get the benefits they deserve.  Country Joe gained fame at The Woodstock Festival and for his strong comments on the Vietnam conflict in the Sixties. 

The Kinetic playground is located at 1113 W. Lawrence, across from the Aragon Ballroom.  Admission is $25.00 and the event runs from      7 pm until 1 am.  The Sixties Museum will be located on Chicago's Southwest side and is looking for donations to begin construction.  Covering everything that happened during that decade, the Sixties Museum will feature a Sixties Toy Museum, The Living Vietnam Memorial that will put a face to the names of those who served and died, a Sixties research library, a theater and a virtual step back in time. 

Tickets can be purchased on-line at www.60smuseum.org, at the door or by calling (847) 214-8532.  Other winners of the award are John F. Kennedy, Rev. Martin Luther King, John Glenn, Bobby Seale, Bobby Rush, Peter Noone of Herman's Hermits, Dick Biondi, JimySohns of The Shadows of Knight, Betty Friedan, Ernie Banks and The Beatles.  Winners were selected by public on-line voting at the museum's website and staff selections.
